My workshop is the town of Grassina between the city of Florence and the land of the Black Rooster Chianti wine (Chianti Gallo Nero).
My workshop produces entirely handmade ceramic pieces from the past, mainly form the 17th and 18th centuries.
To do so we have adopted techniques similar to those used in the past, using a composite clay suitable for the elasticity and lightness needed for these ceramics.
The result is a very delicate object whether it is a plate, a soup tureen or an apothecary jar will be decorated with the designs and colors of the Renaissance period when ceramics were used regularly for domestic or pharmaceutical purposes.
Since my work is the fruit of my imagination and creativity, I must confess that the details of what surrounds me become a source of inspiration for the decoration and design of the ceramics I produce. A certain flower or piece of fruit can spark the creation of an item or be a sketch that will materialize later on in the designs of vases and plates.
Another source of inspiration can be a geometric form that will lead to the creation of a prototype and then to the plaster mould from which the object can repeatedly made. The photographic gallery shows examples of my creations.
