Decorative items for the home. Our workshop produces various items for home decoration such as table tops of varying sizes, jars, pitchers vases, cachepots (ornamental flower pots) wall plates, umbrella stands, fruit bowls cookie jars, ornamental bottles, lamps, etc.
We also produce specialized items made completely by hand which evoke the ceramics done in the 15th and 16th centuries. Objects such are soup tureens with matching under tray, plates, stands apothecary jars, holy water fonts, shaving basins and (travel) flaks are carefully and accurately made.
Our table tops are made by hand using fire clay pressed into a plaster mold (obtained from a prototype) and formed by hand using a grate system which lightens and strengthens the table.
A slow and careful drying period of about 45 days follows.
A first firing, called bisque firing, at 990° Celsius is done after which the table can be glazed and painted completely by hand with classical or modern designs.
A second firing at 920° Celsius takes place to insure that the colors and the glaze are permanently set.
Tables made with fire clay are very suitable for use in gardens and patios as they do not suffer any consequences in bad weather conditions such as rain or frost.
